Designed and developed by SOS (Specialised Orthotic Services, UK) to provide an integral positioning experience to optimise a child’s physical development. Nessie provides a novel approach to aid positioning during therapy-time, encouraging proactive and functional physical activities.
Nessie is a multi-positional device which allows children with a physical disability to be positioned effectively whilst enjoying play-time on the floor.
Nessie promotes key positions of play therapy, including:
- Supine (lying on your back)
- Prone lying (lying on your tummy)
- Long siting
- Side lying
- Side sitting
- Crawling “on all 4’s”
- Straddle sitting (horse riding position)

Nessie is easy to transport around, so you can have therapy play and positioning, any time you need it!
Nessie’s flexibility allows it to be easily manipulated to support a wide range of positioning options required during each therapy / play session.
Nessie is manufactured from a comfortable flexible low density foam moulding – specifically shaped and designed to give effective positional control during hands on therapy and relaxed fun time.
