In October, Jane and Sean visited Specialised Orthotic Services‘ Head Office and Factory in Tutbury, Staffordshire.

Specialised Orthotic Services Ltd (SOS) are specialist manufacturers of seating & mobility products for children & adults with complex posture & special seating needs.  Specialised Orthotic Services Ltd was the first dedicated Special Seating Company in the UK, established in 1980 by its founder and MD, Gordon McQuilton MBE, who Jane and Sean met during their visit.

SOS are the manufacturers of both the PPod and the Nessie that M & E Physio Solutions imports and distributes in Australia.

The SOS building was so big, we couldn’t get it all in one photo.

During the factory tour, we saw the robots (which work around the clock) cutting foam for new moulds.

Everyone at SOS works hard!  Even the mould is head down, arse up!

Jane and Sean were both impressed at the scale of operations at SOS, the professionalism of the staff and seeing the work that goes into making these great products.
